How would you describe <High Flyer> to a new reader?
- This adds more depth to my background character in the Domino Sagas
What was the inspiration behind <High Flyer> ?
- I noticed this secondary character kept appearing in my novels to give a bit of humor to the stories. So I gave him his own book.
Which authors do you admire? How have they influenced your writing style?
- Tim Stout, Agatha Christie, Isaac Asimov
Can you tell us a little about the locations in your book?
- Charlie Dane is a man of all trades. He tried married but it didn't work with him piloting shuttles to the Moon. Later he subs for a cook to Mars and is seen again in the Quest Series to settle down.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors? How would you advise a new author about traditional publishing versus self publishing?
- Read, read, read and write your dreams down. Don't throw them away.
What's your writing process?
- Im retired, so I'll make a list of the scenes I want to write. I don't write in the evening, that's my time to relax. But when I watch movies on tv, I call that research. In the case for this novella, I combined all the scenes Charlie Dane appeared in with a little extra to give depth to the character.
Which character in <High Flyer> has had the greatest impact on readers?
- Charlie's wit and street smart
If <High Flyer> were to be adapted for TV or film, who would you see in the lead role? Who did you have in your mind’s eye when you wrote him/her?
- I have no idea. Maybe Bruice Willis when he was younger
How have readers responded to <High Flyer>?
- The sci-fi groups on facebook have downloaded this book well
Where next? What are you working on now?
- I working on another historical story about my grandmother.
