How would you describe Thirty-Nine Steps; A Nations Glory to a new reader?
  • Caribbean Comedy
What was the inspiration behind Thirty-Nine Steps; A Nations Glory ?
  • Ever since Usain Bolt exploded onto our screens during the Olympics 2012 I was completely capitvated by his splendor. Usain quickly became a sporting hero of mine during the games and I have been a major fan ever since. I have had the opportunity to meet him in person, see him perform live and decided to write my own ode to him because I have the knowledge to do so.
Which authors do you admire? How have they influenced your writing style?
  • Napoleon Hill, I think he is probably one of the most prolific writers of our time. It has shaped my writing in that I am keen to see more available in the genre of Personal Experience which fascinates me.
Can you tell us a little about the locations in your book?
  • The story is based on Usain's hometown Sherwood Content, which is a small town in the Trelawny Parish, Jamaica. It consists of two adjoining villages, Sherwood and Content
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
  • To contact me for all your writing-coach needs, I am a firm believer that everyone has a story to tell...Allow me to show you the skills in taking your first draft to publication and beyond.

  • A brief outline and being writing.
Which character in has had the greatest impact on readers?
  • The main character Usain Bolt
If Thirty-Nine Steps; A Nations Glory were to be adapted for TV or film, who would you see in the lead role? Who did you have in your mind’s eye when you wrote him/her?
  • Usain Bolt is the only person who could play his character in my estimation.
How have readers responded to Thirty-Nine Steps; A Nations Glory
  • Extremely well, the novel is written in a combination of both English and Broken English dialects and has been well received by readers.
Where next? What are you working on now?
  • Very busy with my new writing Academy, with a new Self-help publication 'Overcoming Adversity' due for release late 2020.

Synopsis

Is a fictional short story based on the Author’s all time sporting hero Usain Bolt. This tale covers one of Usain Bolt’s most important and defensive racing bouts to date during London 2012 and observed by his local community in Sherwood Content, a small town in the parish of Trelawny Jamaica, West Indies where Usain was born and raised. Usain would go on to successfully defend the one hundred metres race event with only a total of thirty-nine steps required to outrun his opponents and become the victorious contender, retaining his title as the World’s fastest 100 Meters Racing Champion.
It was natural on Shara’s behalf to write an ode to her favourite sporting hero; not only has she had the pleasure of watching Usain race live, she has also had the unforgettable experience of meeting the charismatic and charming sportsman in person. “Shara has delivered yet again, in this fast-paced parody of one of Usain Bolt’s most prolific racing meets.
