How would you describe <The Night the Bridge Collapsed> to a new reader?
  • This is a true story. In 1971, while an officer was answering a crash scene, he and his friend fell into the Spokane River when the bridge collapsed. He survived his friend did not. Memories of growing up in a small town and testimonials are included.
What was the inspiration behind <The Night the Bridge Collapsed> ?
  • The Post Falls Library (Idaho) posted pictures about that night. I lived in that town and had just moved away when I married.
Which authors do you admire? How have they influenced your writing style?
  • For this nonfiction style I would say Jean Dunstan and her book, Lost Child
Can you tell us a little about the locations in your book?
  • This takes place south of Post Falls, Idaho next to the Spokane River.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
  • Read as much as you can to understand grammar and punctuation and dialogue
What's your writing process?
  • I sit down after breakfast and edit last night's work, a previous book, or add a couple more chapters to my work in progress
Which character in <The Night the Bridge Collapsed> has had the greatest impact on readers?
  • The heroics of the officer involved, and the how the towns people came together to help.
If <The Night the Bridge Collapsed> were to be adapted for TV or film, who would you see in the lead role? Who did you have in your mind’s eye when you wrote him/her?
  • Officer Button was a hefty tall man in his 40s.
How have readers responded to <The Night the Bridge Collapsed>?
  • I enjoyed this fascinating glimpse into another time when the Spokane Street Bridge, in Post Falls, Idaho, collapsed. Often people are unaware of so many interesting aspects of history, and this author has a talent for bringing the past alive.-J.D.

  • I'm finishing my latest science fiction steampunk young adult, Eye of the Throne. It will release July 31, 2020

Synopsis

A non-fiction novella about what happened to the Spokane Street Bridge in Post Falls, Idaho in 1971. My impressions of growing up in a small town of 2000 people during the 1950s and 1960s and the heroics of our town police officer. All proceeds shall go to the Post Falls Historical Society Museum.
