Quick description of the book for a new reader - what should they expect?
- It's a monster movie send up set in the outback of Australia
What was your inspiration for this book?
- It's a bit of tremors, and a bit arachnophobia, I love monster films so I've made a sort of tribute to many in it.
Which authors do you admire? How have they influenced your writing style?
- Douglas Adams and Terry pratchett. Self explanatory if you have read any of my books.
Can you tell us a little about the locations in your book?
- It's the Australian outback and for the life of me I can't understand why more monster stories don't happen there.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
- It's a very competitive and full world, write for yourself then find your readers.
Could you talk a little about your writing process?
- I'm severly dyslexic so was never able to write until I was 42, I haven't stopped since I just fire out 3-6k words every day without ever running out of things to say.
Which character has had the greatest impact on readers?
- Choggy is a very popular character.
If the book were to be adapted for TV or film, who would you see in the lead role? Who did you have in your mind’s eye ?
- Maybe Melissa McCartney as Sharon.
How have readers responded ?
- They love it, it's somthing different from what I have served up so far and they seem to be really enjoying that.
Where next? What are you working on now?
- I'm nearly ready to finish the series, I'm going to do the penultimate blockers book next.
