How would you describe Our Fathers to a new reader?
  • If you remember a sitcom from the 90's called Father ted, then you are in the same ball park, if not its a satirical look at a small village in Ireland focusing on the local church.
What was the inspiration behind Our Fathers ?
  • Absolutely, Father Ted it was my favorite TV show growing up, but i added my usual sprinkling of Armageddon and big monsters.
Which authors do you admire? How have they influenced your writing style?
  • Douglas Adams, Steven Moffet, JJ, Abrahams
Can you tell us a little about the locations in your book?
  • It is a made up place called Bishops point, in Ireland, a small village out in the countryside.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
  • i have no idea, i am still aspiring.
What's your writing process?
  • i just stick a notepad next to me and go flat out, i try to always write outside, on a laptop,
it helps me a lot, i am not really a indoors chap.
Which character in Our Fathers has had the greatest impact on readers?
  • I think its a tie between Father O'Riley and Father O'Malley, although Mr. Whan is a big Favorite too.
If Our Fathers were to be adapted for TV or film, who would you see in the lead role? Who did you have in your mind’s eye when you wrote him/her?
  • I think i would die of happiness if Ardal O'Hanlon played either Father O'Riley or Father O'Malley, he was in the original Father Ted, he played Dougal.
How have readers responded to Our Fathers?
  • so far they think its my best work, defiantly the funniest.
Where next? What are you working on now?
  • i wanted to have written 10 books in total by the end of this year, i only have one left to write, i have six months to worry about it, so i am not even cooking an idea yet, but i absolutely do want to write another Our Fathers book, if that is next, i am not sure.
