How would you describe Tar Baby to a new reader?
- Tar Baby talks about an 'ism' such as colorism that many people want to avoid that is prevalent in the Black American Communities. Colorism affects our young children and scars them for life. Self-esteem and confidence are everything when growing up, and skin complexion shouldn't be a barrier.
To what extent is Tar Baby based on your own experiences?
- I see how it affects Black Americans with darker hue. It's the "racism" in Black communities.
How have readers responded to Tar Baby?
- It has a 5 star rating! Readers love it.
